It is our goal to help students become physically fit and to help them understand that exercise and eating right is a lifetime responsibility. We hope to attain our goal by having a lot of fun skills and activities for your child to participate in. Your child will have physical education class every day, the class will typically include approximately 20 minutes a day of physical activity (skills, conditioning, sports and game) and an additional ten minutes of free play and skill related games.
During the first few weeks of school we will be in the early stages of fitness testing. We will also practice soccer and football related skills. Throughout the year we will spend time helping students develop good character habits, such as honesty, respect, fair play and sportsmanship.
Grades will come from a number of sources including quizzes, skill testing, active participation and conduct. We expect students to give a good effort and to participate throughout the school year. If we have any discipline problem during class we will usually have a time out period and possibly contact the parent.
We believe your children will enjoy physical education class this year. We encourage you to work out and exercise with your children at home and set an example of staying healthy.
